Directorate of Technical Services (DTS)

Objective

To provide expertise and services in matters related to regulatory and non-regulatory function of pesticides registration and control, biodiversity conservation and sanitary and phytosanitary issues.

Functions

The Directorate perform the following functions: -

To monitor, control and coordinate pesticides research; To analyze pesticide products  for quality control; To monitor service delivery efficiency; To coordinate Heads of Zonal offices in matters related to pests and pesticides and other technical services to our esteem customers and especially farmers, extension Officers and pesticide business community; To prepare financial and personnel estimates for the directorates; To identify research priority areas and submits recommendations to the Director General; To coordinate and participate in development of research proposals; and To initiate and maintain partnership and net working with other research Institution and stakeholders in matters related to pests and pesticides, biological diversity and phytosanitary services.
