The Strategic Plan will be operationalized through implemented Action Plans of specific financial years.
Future Strategies
In order to improve the agriculture sector performance, emphasis on the implementation of planned research and technical services targets including laboratory Accreditations should be emphasized. That would be achieved by implementing the TPRI Strategic Plan (SP) which has the need to encourage investment in agribusiness as well as strengthening the agricultural research support services.
The government should also have taken the advantage of the existing initiatives such as the Development Cooperative Framework (DCF), formerly Joint Assistance Strategy for Tanzania (JAST) and the second. National Five Year Development Plan (FYDP-II) to effect structural adjustment in the Agricultural sector. The prospects for the future growth of the agricultural sector lie in both intensification of production and expansion of the areas under cultivation, existence of markets for Agricultural produce that is efficient and effective. However, the Minister of Agriculture directed the Governing Council to ensure that the budget directives are implemented by the Institute.
